For fame and pay
At least as those
Are defined today
Eschewing the viral path
Diligently they go
Honing their chosen craft
With the trust of one who knows
That the worth of art
Is not in dollars weighed
But in the shifting of a heart
Moved by imagination displayed
Yes, the laborer is worth their hire
As penury does not beget
The fulfilling of desire
But let us not forget:
The holy park of Creative Fire

You can feel how much love for the craft is behind this, especially the idea that art’s real worth is in “the shifting of a heart.” I think a lot of people needed that reminder right now, myself included.
